(1/18/2012) The Palm Beach Soccer League announced it's plans to coordinate a "mini season" for it's member clubs, which will start in February. Boca Raton Juniors will be entering a team in the program for players aged 6,7, and 8 years old. "We had a great experience in the Palm Beach League thus far. Our teams practice three times a week and play other teams on the weekend. The weekend games provide situations for the players that you can't just recreate at practice. The upcoming mini season will be ideal for our new 6, 7, and 8 years olds to apply what they learned at the practice sessions verse real opponents. That's what separates us from other soccer programs, our players are always playing. That means they are always improving." said Fernando Valenzuela, the club's Direcor of Coaching and Player Development.

As directed by the Director of Coaching, the players will practice three times a week, twice on an outdoor grass surface and once at a the Indoor Sports Complex, where the ball is constantly in play due to walls that surround the court. Their will also be special goalkeeper practice for players who desire to excel in that position. The new team will be head coached by Ricardo Pabon, who trains both of the clubs already seasoned U8 and U9 teams. "This new team is going to train the same way the U8 & U9s train. There's no need to make any changes. The new players are entering a successful program. The U8's are undefeated in the Palm Beach League and won the U9 Gold Division. The U9's have only lost two games in the Palm Beach Soccer League. They are also very consistent with their play. How you train is how you play, and we train hard. The new team of 6, 7, 8 year olds will (and already do) have sufficient time with me during practice, and will also practice with teams that we have been training for the past one in a half to two years. I want to give them the best of both worlds." said Coach Ricardo.

Families interested in joining this new team should met the coaching staff and players during a practice session.
Tuesday/Wednesday: Sandalfoot Cove Park, 6:00 PM.
Thursday: Indoor Sports Complex (SW10th and Powerline), 6:00 PM.

January 15th, 2012, Boca Raton Juniors U8 and Elite Soccer Academy U9 traveled to Klock Fields of Palm Beach Gardens for the championship game of the Palm Beach Soccer League Champion's Season Playoffs. Boca Juniors earned their spot in the championship game by going undefeated through out the regular season. Meeting Elite Soccer Academy in the championship game was ideal as the teams faced off twice during the regular season, with both games resulting in stalemates.

Elite took advantage of their one year age difference to muscle their way past the Boca Juniors defense. Elite shoot eight times on goalkeeper Matthew Labrador in the first half, who saved four one verse one goal opportunities to deny Elite of a prestigious victor and to keep Boca Juniors in contention. Elite won the first half with a goal in the 12th minute.

However Boca Juniors was able to make a comeback after number 8 Thiago Flamengo shot from distance was blocked by the hand of an Elite defender inside the penalty area. The teams number 10 playmaker, Gerdado Valenzuela converted the penalty kick, equalizing the score at 1-1. The comeback was completed two minutes before the final whistle was blown by the referee, when number 7 Fernando Valenzuela sent a through ball to number 9 Marqinho, who sharply hit the ball passed the diving goalkeeper, into the side netting of the goal.

The team is head coached by Marcos Fernandes. Coach Marcos commented after the game, "The boys pulled off a great comeback. The parents of the players show great commitment to the club, coaching staff, teammates, and players. This was a great way to the players to pay them back. No matter what the score was, we played the toque toque (touch touch) style. We stuck to it and played our game throughout the game, that why we pulled of an amazing comeback. I am proud of everyone."
